ZACHARY BROWN BIO
Musical History
Zachary Brown has been performing in various youth and church chorus' since the age of 5.
After getting to high school, he joined the Covington Catholic all boys Chamber Choir junior year, and sang with them till the end of senior year. While he was performing with the chamber choir, he also joined the Viva Voices community choir, directed by Tony Burdette.
Zachary also served as the President of the Covington Catholic Notre Dame High School band both Junior and Senior year. In college he has performed with the Grove City Wolverine Marching Band, Orchestra, Concert Choir, Touring Choir, Chamber Choir, and Jazz Band.
Choral Experience
At the same time Zachary was participating in these the Chamber Choir and Viva Voices, he also went to KMEA All State Chorus two years in a row, performing with the SATB choir in 2022, and performing with the TTBB choir in 2023. During his time in choir, he performed more than 30 times a year, even traveling to New York to sing in Carnegie Hall as a part of the Manhattan Concert Productions Program. Continuing into college, Zachary has sung with the Grove City Concert and Touring Choirs, spending time traveling down to Charleston South Carolina Spring 2024 for the yearly Touring Choir trip.
Education
Zachary has his High school Diploma from Covington Catholic High School, he also attended Grove City College as a part of the Music Education Program, going for his Bachelors as a Music Education Major. His concentration is in Voice, and he was also pursuing a Piano Minor. Zachary is currently working as a private contractor, lesson teacher, and substitute teacher.
Instrument/Ensemble Experience
In addition to vocal experience, Zachary has also been playing Piano for the better part of 12 years, and has pursued many other instruments, including; The Flute (6 years), the Saxophone (5 years), the trumpet (4 years), the Guitar (4 years), the Baritone (2 years), and the Bagpipes (2 years). While not being a main focus, he is able to play all of these instruments, to varying degrees of ability.
Goals
My Goals for the Near Future
My goals for the next few years after college are to find a job working as a choral and band director to a Middle School or High School in the mid-eastern area. I hope to eventually complete my master's degree, and potentially a doctorate in Music Education some day, so I have the option to teach at a collegiate level. I would also like to pursue a career as a vocalist, both in a choral and soloist setting.
